About the Filmmaker – Claude Green

Claude began his career in the corporate world, working in management at Reuters from 1978. Many years later, he left to pursue filmmaking, studying both fiction and documentary at film school.
He has since made a number of short films and documentaries, including An Unwise Theft (2008), A Still Life (2009) and Shanghai Journey (2010), all of which screened at film festivals in the UK and internationally.
In 2010, Claude directed his first feature-length documentary, So What Does an MP Do? which won Best Documentary at the Monaco Film Festival and screened across the UK and USA. The film followed MP Ed Davey behind the scenes and was among the first documentaries to give audiences an up-close view of the everyday work of an representative of the people.
In 2014, Claude made his first feature fiction film, The Doo Dah Man, which screened at numerous festivals and was shown on Sky Cinema.
Claude’s passion for documentary filmmaking comes from the insight it offers into society and community revealing stories and perspectives that are often overlooked or taken for granted.

The Documentary: Behind the Posts
Behind the Posts takes a “slice of life” look at a modern rugby club and the community that sustains it.
The film explores life at Esher Rugby Club — from the volunteers, coaches and club officials to the parents, juniors and minis just starting out, and the players who have reached the first team. It also examines the financial and cultural pressures faced by those involved in the sport today.
Esher Rugby Club is deeply rooted in its local community, relying on a wide network of volunteers from coaches and administrators to those who simply stay behind after matches to help clear up.

Claude will be on site Saturday 20th December 2025 filming for the Behind the Posts.

No children will be filmed without parental permission, and no individual will be filmed without their consent. The Club Committee will have final approval of the footage, and anything they are not comfortable with will be removed.
