Esher Cardinals play in the competitive Halbro Raging Bull Shield. The priority of this team is to help develop players for regular 1st team rugby, and keep 1st squad players match ready.
In the tough 3rd tier environment of national rugby, it is imperative to have a large first team squad, and the Cardinals team is an extension of the 1st team, with a blend of 1st team squad members pushing for regular starts in National 1, along with young developing players. The Cardinals train as one team with the first team on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
