Raising money for
Minis & Junior Rugby at Esher & La Plata
Simon Catnach, Neil 'Dogend' Harper, Ben Robinson and Charlie Beardmore have all reached or are about to reach their 60th Birthdays. Between them they have played for Esher rugby for nearly a century and it's only because they no longer boast a serviceable pair of knees between them that they aren't still pulling on the black and amber.
To acknowledge this milestone and largely in defiance of it they are proposing a cycle ride, quite a long one actually! They propose to cycle from Viña del Mar in Chile to La Plata in Argentina or to put it another way, the Pacific to the Atlantic via the Andes. This will take them to a height of about 14,000 feet and cover a distance of just over 1,000 miles over a two week period in November and December this year.
The boys would like to raise money for the Minis and Juniors at both Esher and La Plata Rugby Clubs, having formed a strong bond with the Veteranos at La Plata over the year and we would like to call on your generosity in these causes. The trip is totally self-funding so all your contributions will go to helping the next generation of players at these two great clubs!
