Rugby to go ahead at Esher this weekend as we pay our respect to Her Majesty ... see message from our President below

The news announced on Thursday by Buckingham Palace that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had passed away was received by the Nation and Commonwealth with great sadness.

On behalf of Esher Rugby Club, we would like to offer our condolences to all the members of the Royal family at this time. Our Monarch had been our Queen since acceding to the throne on February the 6th 1952 and consequently to the vast majority of people, she had been a constant source of inspiration throughout their lives and we will all miss her leadership, compassion and wisdom, greatly.

As a matter of respect to Her Majesty, there will be a minutes silence at 3.00 pm with the players from Esher and Rosslyn Park, along with the officials, lined up in front of the stand.

We will all look back on her life of service to our country with great admiration and love and although our Queen was responsible, more than anyone else of our generation, of bringing us all together as a Nation, we will remember Her Majesty's life with huge affection and gratitude.
