Esher Rugby preparations gathering momentum for the 2019/20 season

In advance of Esher's biggest match for many seasons, away at Blackheath, the club is delighted to announce that many of the team's leading players have committed themselves to Molesey Road for a further 12 months. Among those who have agreed to stay are captain Charlie Gossington, along with Harrison Collins, Cam Leigh, Joe Beckett and Tom James. Esher's new director of rugby Peter Winterbottom, has also confirmed that his coaching team will include Paul Roberts and Tom Cheeseman, who have been such invaluable players for the club over many seasons. 'Cheese' is optimistic that a successful ankle operation in the summer will enable him to be a player-coach in the future.

As well as having discussions with the current players Peter and assistant Chris Wilkins are also speaking to several clubs, with a view to strengthening the squad irrespective of the outcome on Saturday. Preparations are already under way, with pre-season fixtures arranged. More details will follow once this season is completed at the weekend.
