Esher Rugby is excited to announce a new medical partnership with the Meliora Medical Group
At a time when player safety and welfare are at the very top of rugby's agenda, Esher Rugby is excited to announce a new medical partnership with the Meliora Medical Group and in particular their Return2Play sports medicine division, that will benefit the entire club. The link with the Meliora Medical Group will greatly enhance the medical provision the club provides on many levels, from minis to the 1st XV squad.
Esher's Director of Rugby, Peter Winterbottom, welcomed the agreement, saying, "This partnership with Meliora is welcomed by all the players, coaches and medical staff at Esher Rugby. Player welfare is taken extremely seriously by the club especially with concussion management an area that Meliora's Return2Play specialise in. Having Meliora Medical Group work alongside our existing medical team will give all the players the confidence that their welfare is paramount."
Deputy President John Inverdale described it as 'fundamental to the future of the game at Molesey Road' and an integral part of all future planning for the sport."
Dr Sam Barke, head of sports medicine at Meliora Medical Group, said of the partnership "We are delighted to be working with Esher to provide their players with access to the highest levels of medical care. Esher's dedication to player welfare has been obvious since the start of discussions and their desire for all levels and ages at the club, not just the 1stXV, and to be included is testament to that"
"Return2Play, part of Meliora Medical Group, is a leading sports medicine provider for schools, clubs and universities. They have a particular expertise in the management of concussion."
