CHANGE OF VENUE to the 83rd Bengal Clipper with Shane Warne - Friday 12th October ..... see details below

For those who have booked we look forward to seeing you on Friday 12th October for lunch with Shane Warne

Unfortunately, the Bengal Clipper Restaurant, whose owners were in negotiations with the landlords over the lease renewal, has been closed and the locks changed resulting in the cancellation of all bookings.- an era has ended and a new one beginning. Our sincere thanks to Mr Chouduray and his team for the great memories and stories that the Clipper has provided with us over the last 15 or so years

Fortunately, we have a superb new venue for Friday in the heart of the City - not a curry but very up market, friendly and will be a great new experience

The Venue is The Mercer, 34 Threadneedle Street, EC2R 8AY. If you are at Bank looking at the Royal Exchange you go up the left hand side keeping the Royal Exchange on your right and the Bank of England on your left. The road forks after about 50 yards- Old Street off to the left and Threadneedle Street straight on. Carry on up Threadneedle - the Mercer is on the right hand side - Large M sign outside

Usual format of large cocktail reception, Q and A Quiz , raffle etc. - will be a brilliant day in the company of one of the World's greatest cricketers and a really top man

Please tell all your guests and apologies to all those who were coming for the Curry

Always a good idea to let the guests know there will be a Heads and Tails and a raffle and to bring some cash although we may be able to take payment by card! Everyone will win something on Friday and also be part of the next era- The Mercer 1

See you on Friday from about 1215/ 1230- Well stocked pay bar for beers, fine wines and champagne
