Stourbridge hit by unlucky 13

Esher's 13 try’s left director of rugby Mike Schmid pleased as punch.

“After last week's massive game against London Scottish this was a real banana skin, I’m proud of the way the boys went about their task it makes my job a lot easier.” he said.

Esher's massive points tally continues to mount with this demolition of Stourbridge who turned up but were just not let into the game by a well organised Esher team.

Stourbridge’s pack was hit hard and fast and never given a chance, whilst forwards and backs combined to give an impressive display, with no loss of concentration in the later stages.

It took Esher nine minutes to cross Stourbridge’s line. Once they had however it was a fairly constant procession with champagne rugby bursting through. Tries scored from all over with good hands and some cheek.

Winger Samuel Smith scored four tries, Shawn Renwick got three, Kevin Corrigan two, and Christopher York a wonderful individual effort from his opponent’s ten yard line, bouncing off and through any attempted tackles.

Scrum half Garrick Cowley sold an outrageous dummy before turning  neatly to score under the posts Sam Ulph scored in the corner then converted his own try, along with ten others from all sorts of positions four from wide out so consistent was he that substitution was the only thing that stopped him from an unprecedented clean sweep.

Ross Chisholm looked to carry on the good work when converting the 12^th try.

But after Captain David Slemen scored the final try with his usual grace Chisholm missed the last kick.

On the one occasion Stourbridge got anywhere close to Esher's line the surrey side's defence showed they were up to it and maintained the sheet clean

Next week Esher travel to Newbury, a team who took the points at Launceston with a last gasp penalty. All the Esher faithful are welcome. Kick off is at 3pm
