The club runs eight senior sides ranging from the truly serious to "social" rugby and caters for players of all abilities, sizes and ages. The 1st XV play in National League Division One, come along and support us on Match Days, the ticket price is reduced for Members. The 2nd XV, known as the 'Cardinals', plays in Division 1 of the Rugby Tech Shield League while the Academy XV plays in Division 2 of the Rugby Tech Shield League.

The 4th XV (The 'Priors'), 5th XV (The 'Friars'), 6th XV (the 'Bees'), who play in the Surrey Merit Tables, and the Veterans (known as the 'Expendables') are all for players who prefer the more social side of the game.

Handling the Teams

The club boasts an impressive array of quality coaching staff. Mike Schmid is the Director of Rugby and a former Canadian International and Rotherham coach. He is aided by John Graves ex Rosslyn Park and Chris Kibble. The fitness and conditioning coach is Simon Elkinson. The 1st XV Manager is David Page.

The 2nd XV Manager is Gordon Raybould and they are coached alongside the 1st XV using the coaches named above and also some guest coaches.

The Esher Academy is for players from 17 years of age upwards, and although there is no upper limit on age, most players will be in the 17 – 23 age bracket. The side is coached alongside the 1st and 2nd XV. The Academy manager is Nigel Scott and the side is coached by Dave Chalcraft and Stuart Walker, with assistance from Neil Hallett and Kit Dobner as they recover from injury.

We are also privileged to have a brilliant back up team of physios and Doctors. The physios are Carol McAthey, Jonny Grimwade and Jo McGilchrist. The Club doctor on match days is supplied by Wimbledon Park side clinics. The club’s Hon Doctor is Dr John Stevenson.
