Still only 24 years of age but with more experience than many seasoned pros, Mickey Wilson’s arrival in the summer of 2013 was a real statement of intent, and he will fill the one missing piece of the jigsaw – the No.10 jersey.
Having started off his career at Saracens, the Italy ‘A’ international moved to Italy, with Viadana, before moves followed to Aironi and most recently to Rovigo, where he finished the 2012-2013 campaign.
A hugely talented footballer with a keen eye for a gap, Wilson has played in both half-back positions in the Aviva Premiership, Heineken Cup and European Challenge Cup, so will provide stiff competition to current scrum halves Andy Garner and Robbie Shaw. Boss Ricky Nebbett, though, will be hoping that he is the solution at fly half, following the retirement of Gareth Morgan.
