Esher Rugby is pleased to announce that prop Ollie Mines has signed on for another two years at Molesey Road.
Ollie has become quite the character around the Club, and writes every week for the matchday programme. A smart prop, both on and off the field, he is well liked by supporters and players alike. Every other Saturday you can often read about his weekly train journey home with teammates; retelling the antics of one Joe "Shlid" Macmanus or quoting intellectuals such as Norman Vincent Peale.
However, Ollie's fortnightly scribblings aside, the 26 year-old is delighted to have signed with the Club again, in what will be his fifth season wearing the black and amber.:
"I'm really pleased to have signed with Esher for another two years. Over the last four seasons I've grown to love the club, and think of it as my rugby home."
The last 12 months have been a struggle for the squad, and Ollie has had good competition in the front row. There is an idea at the Club that Esher should be pushing for a top spot in National One, and Ollie is looking forward to the upcoming challenge of living up to the expectations:
"We under-performed last season. But I think the entire 1st XV squad, coaches, staff and supporters are agreed that the aim is to be circling around the very top of National One. It's where we absolutely should be. And I can't wait to play my part in trying to get us there this coming season."
