Esher Rugby Club is pleased to announce the re-signing of winger and top try-scorer Spencer Sutherland.
The flyer scored 17 tries during the 2014/15 season before injuring his wrist at the end of the year. Spencer has made an impact since arriving at Molesey Road, and his quick footwork and knack for crossing the whitewash has made him a fan-favourite.
At only 80kg, Spencer is one of the lightest boys in the squad, but has shown considerable strength and fearlessness when defending, often tracking back and making vital tackles when the team has needed them. The winger from the midlands knows that this season is down to hard-work and that was a reason for re-signing:
"Esher is a great club. The rugby played on the pitch is always very fun and great to be part of, and I truly believe that is down to the philosophy of the coaches, the ethos of the boys and our determination to succeed."
Sutherland has been fortunate to have been sponsored by A1 Ironing for several years, and his interaction with supporters in the Clubhouse post-match has always been that of a true clubman, and the club is looking forward to seeing him wearing the black and amber for another season:
"With regards to the buzz off the pitch, the fans are a dream to play in front of and are always very supportive. Big praise have to be given to Pete and Lynne of A1 Ironing Services who have been nothing but supportive throughout my time at Esher both on and off the field."
