Adam (Tango) Pigott takes on the Touraid Challenge

12 London Rugby Players have joined forces to support TOURAID in its quest to improve the lives of countless disadvantaged children all over the world. On 14th May, at Rosslyn Park RFC in a marquee seating 600 for dinner, Adam Pigott will represent Esher RFC in a Boxing bout.

Training started for Adam on the 4th January 2010 and he is in the gym 5 days a week, with two sessions a week occurring at The Boxing Works at Blackfriars where he is getting tuition from an expert. Never having boxed before, Adam insists that he was coerced into taking part, but now feels that he cannot withdraw!

He says that his conspiracy theory involves Andy Berry, Jamie Robinson, Mike Schmid and Chris Cloughley (none of whom were available for comment!). Now cornered, he feels that the only course of action left is to throw his heart and soul into it and try and get as fit as possible, learn as much as possible and try to give a decent account of himself on the night.

Adam has reported saying that the training is very intense and far harder than any training he ever did when he was playing 1st team rugby for Esher. However Ray Dudman added that he recalled Adam in physio for most training sessions so was not surprised to hear that!
