Esher 1st Team is recruiting a Team Manager for next season

Esher RFC is recruiting a 1st Team Manager for the 2017/18 season. The club would like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible so as to shadow the current manager for the remainder of the season and start planning for pre-season

1st Team Manager responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Director Of Rugby


Responsible for:


  • RFU registration/administration of all players
  • Administration of international visas when required
  • Maintaining RFU database of players & updating player profiles
  • Booking all 1st team & 2nd team travel & managing team logistics
  • Managing & supporting the Kitman
  • Fulfilling all 1st squad/management kit orders within budgets/liaison with kit supplier for 1st squad
  • Managing physio, medical, travel & kit budgets & administering expenses
  • Liaising with office on match fees/salaries
  • Custodian of team welfare, discipline & values
  • Acting as or managing the 4th official on match day/Referee liaison
  • Submission of match day card to RFU on home matches
  • Liaising with opposition on kick off times & logistics for both home & away games
  • Co-ordinate annual team photo & player profile pics
  • Maintain website player profiles & player stats
  • Manage ball boys on match day
  • Maintain kit & equipment inventory, making sure all in working order
  • Act as central team communications figure in the week and matchday
  • Match day referee & management communications (ref mic & radios)
  • Organise matches to be filmed & set up equipment
  • Deal with player pay queries/uploading of the match to a central hub
  • Custodian of NCA (National league) & RFU regulations & rule updates
  • Manage & communicate player depth charts weekly & maintain player training attendance
  • Manage player duties roster & any sponsorship appearances 
  • Attend and liaise with RFU discipline hearings for senior players and other discipline matters with Surrey RFU  
  • Point of contact for the National League (NCA)


Personal attributes:


  • Understanding of rugby and the team dynamics
  • Approachable to deal with player needs, however also firm when needed
  • Good communicator- verbally and on all communication platforms
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and a positive attitide
  • Very organised


Time requirements:


Available Tues & Thursday evenings: 18h45-21h00 (July- April) 

Available for all home & away matches on Saturdays & some pre-season Saturdays

* Remuneration package dependent on experience and for discussion on application.
