A feature on U16s coach Gary Douch will be aired on ITV London news this Thursday evening (13th October) following his success at coming in the top four nominees for a The Pride Of Britain Award 2016.
Gary is the Chairman of Bowel Disease UK, a charity he co-founded with Professor Devinder Kumar. The charity was started from Gary's hospital bed in 2006 and became official in 2007. Gary is also a director at Charterbuild Construction in Wimbledon as well as being a much loved rugby coach here at Esher.
Gary (pictured here with Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood at the Bowel Disease UK award winning garden Hampton Court Flower Show) works tirelessly raising money and awareness for this cause. His passion to see a cure for Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and Bowel Cancer is what drives Gary forward with new and innovative ideas to help generate funds for the research undertaken by Bowel Disease UK at St George's Hospital and other collaborative hospitals and medical centres worldwide.
Gary has confirmed a £200k commitment to the Artesunate research study at St George's and the research is well underway. The Bowel Disease UK garden at Hampton Court Flower Show 2016 won ‘Gold’ and ‘Best In Show’ show awards and PR agent Emma Dewhurst who worked with the charity during this time nominated Gary for a Pride of Britain Award.
Please tune in and watch the feature on Gary this Thursday evening between 6-6.30pm on the ITV London News and we wish him every success at the Awards and the awareness it will bring to Bowel Disease UK.
