Esher Rugby are delighted to announce the signing of USA international Robbie Shaw.
Shaw, 29, has already had a spell at Esher and he is happy to be back.
"I greatly enjoy the feel of the Club, especially the supporters, and I am really pleased to come back," said Shaw, who has six caps for the American national side.
"I look forward to being part of the team and bettering myself at the same time."
The former London Wasps, London Welsh, Connacht, Bristol and Leeds scrum-half was born and raised in England, but qualifies for USA due to his mother being born and raised in New York. His Irish-born father, a former Oxford University rugby captain, is the reason Shaw got into the sport, and from whom he could have claimed a right to represent Ireland.
Shaw, though, says that rugby in his mother's native land is on the rise, and he is part of an increasingly competitive Eagles outfit.
"Rugby in the USA is certainly growing, especially sevens now that it is an Olympic sport.
"The US Eagles are growing in depth and experience, with a number of players now finding their way into top flight rugby.
"I have been lucky enough to have played at some top clubs, and I hope that my stay at Esher this time around not only benefits the team due to my international experience, but also the national side due to the opportunity I have to continue to play at a very high level, week in, week out."
