Both Charlie Ellam-Brown and Ben Walker are selected from Esher RFC's U13s and Esher's first Rugby League team to play for South in the London Origin Series.
In February this year Jason Ellam-Brown & Peter O’Keefe entered an U13’s team into the London & South East Junior Rugby League, with a small squad the boys played League games on Saturday mornings with Stuart Charnley coaching, on a Wednesday evening and Saturdays.
Two great wins and a draw in their first season was a great achievement.
Both Ellam-Brown and Walker were scouted by the Rugby League looking for talented players to put into the Origins Series, this is the Rugby League equivent of County level.
Esher Lions were lucky enough to have 2 players selected for the 2014 Hard Rock Cafe London Origin Series, in the Under 13s South, selection has been based upon players performance throughout the 2014 Youth & Junior League season. The Series will involve 2 training sessions and 3 matches against the North region.

Charlie Ellam-Brown joined Esher Rugby as an U10, he works hard and loves rugby, to the extent he wants to play 12 months a year! He was selected for the Origins Series last year when he played for the other local club, but moved with his father and co-founder, Jason Ellam Brown, to start the Esher Lions U13’s squad. You could say he was the founder player. Charlie is a regular to Esher 1st XV home games, and has truly learned how to play rugby at Esher.
Ben Walker joined Esher Lions this year again from the local rivals, Ben enjoyed playing at the club so much, he is now moving to play Union for Esher this season.
The Club wishes the best of luck to them both in the Origins series & we hope their successes continue at Esher and beyond.
