Paul Barker, who recently had to have his left leg amputated due to Stage 3 cancer, has gained some unlikely support from Oscar Nominated Actor Mark Ruffalo. Posting a message on his Official Tumblr site, Ruffalo asked his followers to give as much support to Paul on his ultimate battle in life.
Ruffalo, who is currently working on the Avengers: Age of Ultron film was asked by Paul’s friend and young film maker David Keadell to help where he could and in doing so has put the Surrey Classic Bike Ride on the worldwide map.
The bike ride itself was set up by players at Esher Rugby Club to support Paul in his wish to have the relative luxury of an electric prosthetic limb enabling him to walk with relative ease.
The ride itself is on Sunday 29th June, with the start and finish at Esher Rugby Club. Riders will have the option of 3 rides; 55, 85 or 100 miles and it will travel along many parts of the famous London 2012 Olympic route. The day should be a great day for the community of Surrey to get together and help Paul on his battle with cancer.
