Welcome to Esher Rugby's Minis

Esher Mini Rugby offers top quality coaching to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 12.  There are separate age groups  e.g. U7, U8, U9, U10, U11 and U12.  U7s and U8s play tag rugby, U9's and U10's progress towards building a 3 "man" scrum and introducing tackling skills, in a safe and controlled way.  U11s and U12s progress to the next phase which develops the four core skills and prepares them for the 15-a-side game at U13.  We are a fully inclusive club and seek to engage all youngsters whatever their abilities are.  Our emphasis is on participation and fun, with equality of opportunities for all players.  Our ethos is to foster and nurture all children.  We operate to the RFU/Sport England child protection guidelines in the "Welfare of Young People in Rugby Union" and our coaches, administrators and team managers are CRB cleared. After Minis players progress to our Junior section to play more competitively in the Surrey RFU Junior leagues, but we still maintain and adopt the principle of equality of participation.  Our young members are encouraged to take an active role within their club, and are offered opportutunites to ball boy at senior matches, take refereeing, first aid and coaching courses, and our most talented players are supported through their County and Academy pathways.
