Key Roles & Responsibilities

As Food & Beverage Manager you will set the tone and cultivate that convivial atmosphere for which rugby is so famous.  Running the bar profitably gives the club much needed funds for its upkeep and equipment. You'll give your many customers an enjoyable visit so they are keen to return.  In addition all players, supporters, volunteers and visitors all need the right sustenance, you will be responsible to ensuring all are well fed.

You will have:
• A Personal License Holder with proven bar management experience
• Food Safety & Hygiene Level 3 qualified
• Hold a Food Handling Declaration Certificate
• Be First Aid Trained and hold a current Certificate

Ideally you will need to be:
• An experienced bar manager
• A good manager of people both sides of the bar
• Financially responsible
• Organised
• Sociable and friendly
• Experienced in catering
• Good at creating delicious food to a strict budget
• Able to manage people - usually volunteers
• Able to work calmly under pressure

What you will do:
• Obtain and renew relevant licenses and permits and ensure compliance with all hygiene certification
• Manage staff, product selection, stock control, security, monitoring of prices/sales, control of takings
• Develop and implement a food and beverage plan for events, such as Match Days, functions held at the club, bar openings and players training evenings
• Manage and implement the food and beverage budget
• Ensure all necessary financial controls are followed
• Ensure the bar and kitchen are clean and comply with Health & Safety regulations
• Develop relationships with breweries and aid to negotiate sponsorships and deals
• Select, supply and arrange ingredients, preparation, serving and clean up of meals
• Liaise with external caterers/chefs where applicable
• Set rooms and lay tables for events and functions

The Events Manager

How much time it will take up:
Average of 38 hours per week depending on numbers and fixtures/events but Saturday home fixtures are key.
