About Esher Rugby Football Club

Esher Rugby club is based in Surrey England. Season 2007-2008 will be its 84th season.

The Mission Statement of the Club is to do well in First Division Rugby, National Division League One this season, whilst maintaining our extensive 'grass roots' rugby activity, fielding eight senior sides and supporting our vibrant Mini and Junior sections.

The club offers rugby to all standards and we welcome all players to the club, whatever your skill or fitness level, there will always be a game for you.

We have a large Membership for those who prefer not to play, but who want to watch top class rugby and enjoy a beer or two, and a chat with friends. Membership details

Handling the Teams

The club can boast an impressive array of quality coaching staff. Mike Schmid is the Director of Rugby and a former Canadian International and Rotherham coach. He is aided by Chris Wilkins  and John Graves ex Rosslyn Park. The fitness is not forgotten and Mike Mein, a respected and talented fitness coach, makes sure that peak performance is attained. The 1st Team Manager is David Page.

The 2nd XV are in the capable hands of Gordon Raybould and they will be coached alongside the 1st XV using the coaches named above and also some guest coaches.

The 3rd XV which is now also known as the development side will also be coached alongside the 1st and 2nd XV. The idea is that it will be a two pronged 2nd XV with the younger players coming from this side. Development team manager is Nigel Scott.

We are also privileged to have a brilliant back up team of physio's and Doctors. The physios Carol McAthey, Wendy Rodgers, Sarah Trew, Emma Mitcham and Melanie Bryant. The Club doctor is Dr John Stevenson.

The captains of the other sides will also extend a hand of friendship to any one just wishing to have a run out on a Saturday.
